In a recent development in the Italian transfer market, AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has reportedly reaffirmed his commitment to the Rossoneri, despite interest from Juventus. This news comes after a phone conversation between Tomori and Juventus manager Thiago Motta, which took place in the last few hours.
The 27-year-old English center-back, who has been a key figure in Milan’s defence since joining the club in 2021, was identified by Juventus as a potential reinforcement for their backline. The Bianconeri are looking to bolster their defensive options following serious injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.
During the call, Tomori is said to have expressed his desire to remain with Milan, a stance that could significantly impact Juventus’ transfer strategy. This development may now force the Turin-based club to shift their focus to other defensive targets in the current transfer window.
Juventus had been hoping to secure Tomori on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli’s offer reportedly stood at €25 million in total, structured as a €5 million loan fee with a €20 million obligation to purchase. However, Milan’s management, including CEO Giorgio Furlani, advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and sporting director Geoffrey Moncada, were holding out for €30 million.
