Serie A | Verona v Lazio: Probable starting lineups

Start

As Lazio prepare to face Hellas Verona in Serie A, the Biancocelesti have received a significant boost with the return of several key players. Captain Mattia Zaccagni, who spent six years at Verona before joining Lazio, has been cleared to play despite earlier concerns about his fitness. Zaccagni’s impressive record against his former club, with five goal involvements in six league matches, adds an intriguing subplot to the fixture.

The Lazio attack is further strengthened by the availability of ex-Verona forward Tijjani Noslin and the return of Pedro from injury. Additionally, Mario Gila and top scorer Taty Castellanos are back in contention after serving their suspensions. However, Marco Baroni will have to make do without Patric, Manuel Lazzari, and Matias Vecino due to injuries, while Loum Tchaouna is suspended.

On the Verona side, Paolo Zanetti welcomes back Suat Serdar and Jackson Tchatchoua from suspension, bolstering his midfield options. Young defender Daniele Ghilardi is expected to recover from a minor knock that kept him out of last week’s match against Napoli. However, the Gialloblu will still be without Martin Frese, Juan Cruz, and Abdou Harroui due to ongoing injury concerns.

Up front for Verona, Casper Tengstedt is likely to partner with Amin Sarr. Tengstedt has proven to be a clinical finisher in Serie A this season, scoring six goals from just nine shots on target. His efficiency is highlighted by the fact that he has taken the fewest attempts (27) to reach this goal tally in the current campaign.

Hellas Verona (3-4-1-2): Montipo; Dawidowicz, Coppola, Ghilardi; Tchatchoua, Duda, Serdar, Lazovic; Suslov; Sarr, Tengstedt

Lazio (4-2-3-1): Provedel; Hysaj, Gigot, Gila, Tavares; Rovella, Guendouzi; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni; Castellanos
