As Lazio prepare for their upcoming Serie A match against Hellas Verona, Director of Sports Angelo Mariano Fabiani shared insights on the team’s current status and transfer market activities. Speaking to Lazio Style Radio just two days before the game, Fabiani addressed several key issues affecting the club.
On the topic of liquidity, Fabiani stated, “This institution does not only concern Lazio; it is something that affects all clubs but can be easily resolved with some departures. This does not prevent Lazio from making moves in the market, which must be aligned with each club’s strategy.” He emphasized that the club has embarked on a new path that requires time to develop. “We started a new journey some time ago. This journey obviously cannot be limited to just one year; it is a new cycle that lasts a minimum of three years, like all cycles,” he explained.
Fabiani acknowledged the criticisms faced during this transition, noting, “There have been justified criticisms because they are constructive, but when someone has their own way of operating, they must adopt it for the good of the club and the fans.”
Regarding potential transfers, Fabiani revealed that there have been inquiries about several players, including Rovella, Dele-Bashiru, Castellanos, and Tavares. He remarked, “Lazio has many attractive names in the market, but we do not need to dismantle the team; we aim to strengthen it.”
He also commented on the situation surrounding Isaksen, stating, “I repeat, everyone is transferable and no one is untouchable. If there is a request for Isaksen, the club will evaluate his replacement. If the substitute guarantees similar or better performances, then we will consider the offer for Isaksen; otherwise, he will remain.”
Fabiani further addressed recent controversies involving player Juan, saying, “I have formed more than one opinion; this matter should come to a close. Juan has apologized; he realized he did something he shouldn’t have and regrets it. Some may accept his apologies; I say that today he is in recovery; health is a right, and as long as he has a medical certificate, we will provide all support.”
He concluded by expressing disappointment over how this situation has been exploited: “What saddens me is that around this issue and this weakness, there is speculation. This is a serious matter; if someone wants to undergo an operation, they are free to do so, but there is an ethical code that must be respected.”
