Torino’s Vanoli Discusses Squad Fitness Ahead of Juventus Derby

Start

Torino head coach Paolo Vanoli addressed the media ahead of the highly anticipated derby against Juventus, providing updates on player fitness and the importance of the upcoming match.

Regarding injuries, Vanoli stated, “We had a good week of training. Today we had doubts about Coco, Ricci, and Gineitis. Saul returned to training yesterday, and today Samuele and Gineitis will give it a try. We hope they will be available.”

When asked about Juventus missing key players like Conceicao and Vlahovic, he remarked, “I’m not interested in focusing on them. The derby has its significance; it’s important. We are facing a strong Juventus team. Even without those two, they have valuable players on the bench. We need to learn from the first derby and take advantage of playing in front of our fans to make it a different match. Winning requires not only organizational skills but also heart and passion.”

Vanoli also touched upon the relationship between the club and its supporters: “Do we align with the fans? I believe so. The fans showed their support at the end of the game against Parma by calling the players over to emphasize the importance of the derby. I have always tried to unite and connect with them despite everything that has happened. Over these six months, our strength has been steering the ship during turbulent times. The club needs to understand the importance of this transfer market.”
