Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has announced that midfielder Cesare Casadei will not be included in the squad as transfer speculation grows surrounding the young Italian’s future. This comes amid reports that Torino is preparing a renewed approach for the player, who has struggled to find his footing at Stamford Bridge.
In a press conference held today, Maresca addressed the situation regarding Casadei, stating, “Cesare will not be in the squad. It’s more or less the same situation as Ben Chilwell. The plan is not to give them minutes if there’s an opportunity for them to play elsewhere.”
Maresca emphasized the importance of collaboration within the club when making decisions about player availability. “At the end of the day, I am the one working every day with the players. How can I train them if they don’t listen to me? It’s not just the coach’s decision; it’s a choice we all make together.”
The manager also touched upon the broader transfer market dynamics, indicating that discussions about potential moves would occur at the right time. “The management has tried to speak with me about transfers, but tomorrow we have a league match. We will talk about the market when it’s appropriate.”
