Juventus compete against Spurs and United for Randal Kolo Muani

Start

The Athletic report that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are in discussions to secure a loan deal for Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain during the upcoming January transfer window. The interest in the 26-year-old forward has also been echoed by Serie A club Juventus, making them all key contenders for his signature.

Kolo Muani, who joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 for a fee of €90 million, has struggled to find consistent playing time at the Ligue 1 champions. His contract extends until 2028, and it is believed that a loan move could be beneficial for both the player and the club, allowing him to gain valuable game experience.

Currently, Juventus rank sixth in Serie A, facing challenges in their attacking performance. Dusan Vlahovic, the team’s primary striker, has managed to score only twice in the league since early November. This lack of scoring is compounded by the team’s sluggish chance creation, as they adapt to a new philosophy under head coach Thiago Motta.

Vlahovic is shouldering the majority of the goalscoring responsibility, especially after Juventus made the decision to sell Moise Kean to Fiorentina last summer. The club had hoped that Arkadiusz Milik would provide adequate support, but his injury history has left him virtually absent from the squad.

To alleviate Vlahovic’s burden, Juventus are considering a move for Kolo Muani. The forward’s previous relationship with Motta during their time at Paris Saint-Germain could give Juventus an edge in negotiations. However, the club’s immediate priority, as stated by head of football operations Cristiano Giuntoli, is to strengthen their defense, which has been impacted by injuries to key players Gleison Bremer and Juan Cuadrado.
