Juventus refuse to give up on Tomori: New approach planned after Supercoppa

Start

Juventus remain determined in their pursuit of AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, despite recent setbacks. The Bianconeri had laid solid groundwork for a deal before the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final in Riyadh, which Milan won in a comeback victory. Juventus Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli had structured a potential €20 million transfer for the 27-year-old, involving a two-year loan with an obligation to buy.

Initially, both Milan and Tomori seemed open to the move. The English defender’s current contract with Milan runs until June 30, 2027, with a salary of €3.5 million per season – a figure Juventus was prepared to match.

Calciomercato report how the arrival of Sergio Conceicao as Milan’s new manager, coinciding with the Supercoppa match, has temporarily halted the operation. Despite this setback, Juventus is not deterred. Reports from Saudi Arabia suggest the Turin club is ready to renew their efforts to secure Tomori for manager Thiago Motta. This move is seen as crucial to address the defensive void left by injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, as well as Danilo’s exclusion from the squad for technical reasons.

As Milan preparesfor the Supercoppa final against Inter before returning to Italy, Juventus is poised to reassess the possibility of reviving the deal. The key questions now are whether Conceicao’s objection to the transfer was limited to the Supercoppa period or if it represents a permanent stance.
