Napoli edged past Venezia with a 1-0 win in their Serie A clash, courtesy of a late strike from substitute Giacomo Raspadori. In his post-match interview, Napoli’s manager Antonio Conte shared his thoughts on the game and the team’s performance.

He began by discussing Raspadori’s role, stating, “We’re inventing Raspadori as a choice. I’m working with him as a central midfielder. He can represent an important option for us. He’s a boy fully involved in the project. We need to find goals from everyone and various solutions. The boy feels totally comfortable in that role.”

Conte expressed relief at securing the win, acknowledging the challenging nature of the match. “It’s a shame we arrived at the last 10 minutes still at 0-0. It seemed like a bewitched game where we missed a penalty and hit the post. I wouldn’t have been surprised if we had even received a final setback. We did well to work as a team and unlock the game. I’m happy because this is a team that is growing in every aspect. If we could score a few more goals, we would avoid cardiac arrests on the bench,” he said with a laugh.

Reflecting on Napoli’s journey so far, Conte highlighted the team’s unexpected success. “I was talking about myself. Even if I play cards with my daughter, I want to win. However, I added that we all know what the club’s objectives are. Personally, I’m someone who doesn’t accept minimal objectives, but we all know where we’re starting from. No one would have ever expected 41 points after 18 rounds,” he remarked.
