Serie A | Parma v Monza: Probable starting lineups

Start

Parma’s defensive crisis deepens as they prepare to face Monza in Serie A on Saturday afternoon. The Crociati could be missing up to half of their regular back four, with Enrico Del Prato and Emanuele Valeri both sustaining injuries in last week’s defeat to Roma. While Valeri might still feature, Del Prato’s thigh problem is likely to keep him sidelined.

The injury woes extend beyond the defense for manager Fabio Pecchia. Adrian Bernabe, Mateusz Kowalski, Gabriel Charpentier, Alessandro Circati, Lautaro Valenti, and Yordan Osorio are all confirmed absentees, while Nahuel Estevez’s participation remains uncertain.

Despite these setbacks, Parma’s attack looks set to be led by Ange-Yoan Bonny, with crucial support from Romanian winger Dennis Man. Man has been a standout performer this season, contributing to 12 goals across all competitions and leading the team in starts with 32.

For Monza, newly appointed coach Salvatore Bocchetti faces his own selection challenges. The visitors will be without captain Matteo Pessina, while Milan Djuric, Mattia Valoti, Samuele Vignato, Luca Caldirola, and Roberto Gagliardini are also unavailable.

However, Daniel Maldini returns from suspension, providing a boost to Monza’s attacking options. He could partner with Dany Mota up front, though Mota’s recent goal drought – scoreless in his last nine league appearances after netting four in his first six – might open the door for Mirko Maric to start.
