Juventus are actively seeking to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming winter transfer window. Manager Thiago Motta has expressed interest in Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee, whom he previously coached at Bologna. The 23-year-old Zirkzee was sold to Manchester United last summer for €42.5 million.
Interestingly, Calciomercato report that Manchester United are also looking to offload another striker: Marcus Rashford. The 27-year-old English international has been offered to several clubs, including Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Tottenham. The Red Devils are reportedly asking for €50 million but are open to a loan deal for January.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is gathering information on potential targets, with Kolo Muani from PSG and Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli also on the radar. However, Rashford’s hefty salary of €15 million gross per year until June 2028 presents a significant hurdle. A potential solution could involve Manchester United covering half of Rashford’s wages, which would reduce Juventus’ financial burden to 3-4 million for the period from January to July.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are exploring other striking options. They have shown interest in Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen (currently on loan at Galatasaray but still owned by Napoli), Spanish attacker Dani Olmo from Barcelona, and Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.
Rashford’s current situation at Manchester United is precarious. Despite scoring 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club and netting 7 times in 24 matches this season, he has been left out of the squad by new manager Ruben Amorim for the last four games against Manchester City, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Wolverhampton.
In contrast, Zirkzee has scored 4 goals in 26 appearances since joining Manchester United, indicating a potential need for more consistent playing time which Juventus might be able to offer.
