Cristiano Giuntoli, Chief Football Officer of Juventus, spoke to Amazon Prime Video and Sky before the Champions League match against Manchester City, addressing several key topics regarding the club’s current situation and future plans.
Giuntoli expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “We always want to do more and better. We’re pleased that Motta doesn’t cling to excuses, but objectively, many things have happened. We’re holding on a bit longer and waiting for some players to return. We think little about the outside, only about ourselves. We’ve seen an extraordinary attitude from the boys; they’re giving everything.”
Discussing Juventus’ long-term strategy, Giuntoli emphasized the club’s commitment to financial responsibility and youth development. “We started with a new project, respecting the budget and with a great desire to launch young players. We want to reach the top in the shortest possible time. There are many debutants in this competition, and we’re happy to play tonight,” he explained.
Addressing rumors about Conceiçao’s future, Giuntoli was unequivocal: “The relationships with Conceiçao and his agent are excellent; we want him to stay with us. The probability that he stays with us? 100%.” This statement comes amid speculation about the player’s future, with Juventus set to pay an additional €30 million in the summer to make the loan permanent, following the initial €7 million loan fee.
Regarding the Champions League campaign, Giuntoli commented, “It’s beautiful; spring will tell us the truth. We’ll certainly need to do something in January. We have needs in defence, and then we’ll be attentive to any opportunity.”
