Fiorentina’s Director General Alessandro Ferrari has provided an update on Edoardo Bove’s health condition following the player’s collapse during Sunday’s match. The incident shocked the football world, but fortunately, Bove’s condition is improving.

Ferrari spoke to reporters outside the Careggi Hospital in Florence, expressing relief and optimism about Bove’s recovery. “We are much more relieved and relaxed compared to yesterday,” Ferrari stated. “We spoke with the young man this morning: he is lucid and awake. He has his usual desire to live and joke around.”

The director general emphasized that while Bove’s situation needs to remain under observation in the coming days, the player is doing well. Ferrari also mentioned that the club’s president had been in constant communication throughout the night and spoke with Bove’s father in the morning.

Remarkably, Bove has already been able to communicate with his teammates. According to Ferrari, “Edoardo managed to speak with the team. He convinced them to play on Wednesday and return to the field immediately because there’s a desire to quickly return to living.” The player’s enthusiasm has apparently inspired the team to get back to action promptly.

Ferrari highlighted the outpouring of support for Bove, noting, “I believe Edoardo has understood and is feeling the affection of the Viola fans, who have been extraordinary, but also of the entire world of football, sports, and politics. There has been an extraordinary movement in his favor, starting with the Inter players. There hasn’t been a club that hasn’t contacted us.”

The director general also shared a positive detail about Bove’s recovery: “The beautiful thing is that this morning, after a night of being intubated, he woke up on his own, conscious and lucid.” When asked about potential health consequences, Ferrari cautioned that it was too early to tell, saying, “We hope not, but we are waiting for all the analyses.”

The match between Fiorentina and Empoli, initially in question, has been confirmed to take place on Wednesday, December 4th, at 9 PM at the Franchi stadium. This decision comes in part due to Bove’s encouragement for the team to return to play.
