Milan and Reijnders close to contract renewal

Start

Tijjani Reijnders’ contract renewal with AC Milan is nearing completion, with both parties having reached an agreement on almost all terms. While the final signature is still pending, there are no concerns about the deal falling through. The most important news for Milan fans is that Reijnders is extremely happy at the club and has no desire to seek a move to the Premier League or reopen discussions with Barcelona, which were closed last summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan’s plan is to extend Reijnders’ contract until 2030, officially registering a five-year deal with the league in 2025. Currently earning €1.7 million per season, Reijnders’ new contract will see a significant increase to over €3 million annually, reflecting his importance to the team. While not considered the most tactically crucial midfielder – a title reserved for Fofana – Reijnders is viewed as the player who ignites the team’s play, consistently elevating the quality of ball possession and capable of initiating, developing, and finishing attacking moves.

Reijnders is widely regarded as the best acquisition of the Furlani-Moncada era. Technical director Moncada scouted him extensively, and Milan secured his services for €20 million. Today, Reijnders’ value has tripled, and he appears to be a player suited for top-level football. Barcelona attempted to sign him last summer, but Reijnders had already committed to Milan after discussions with Moncada and Pioli.
