Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove is making a promising recovery after a frightening incident during Sunday’s Serie A match against Inter Milan. The 22-year-old collapsed unexpectedly in the 17th minute, causing the immediate suspension of the game.
According to La Repubblica, Bove has regained consciousness and is now able to communicate. Upon waking in the intensive care unit, his first words were reportedly a heartfelt “Thank you everyone,” expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support.
The young Italian, on loan from Roma, was rushed to the nearby Careggi hospital after collapsing off the ball. Sky Sport Italia reported that Bove was breathing independently when transported by ambulance and regained consciousness later that evening.
The incident sent shockwaves through the Stadio Artemio Franchi, with players from both teams visibly distressed. The match was promptly abandoned, with Serie A officials confirming it will be rescheduled to resume from the 17th minute at a later date.
