Juventus head coach Thiago Motta addressed the media in a press conference ahead of the team’s upcoming Serie A match against Lecce. The Bianconeri are looking to bounce back after a goalless draw in their Champions League fixture against Aston Villa.
Motta began by emphasizing his desire for continuity in all aspects of the team’s play. However, he immediately highlighted a significant challenge facing the squad: “Bremer, Cabal, Nico Gonzalez, Douglas Luiz, Savona, Vlahovic, McKennie, Adzic, and Milik will not be with us,” he stated, listing a total of nine unavailable players. The manager added, “I don’t know who will recover. We are focused on Lecce, then we’ll see who will be available for the upcoming matches.”
Discussing the opponents, Motta noted the potential impact of Lecce’s recent coaching change: “They’re coming off a win. When you change coaches, it’s normal to see something new and some enthusiasm. Players who participated less can start from scratch again. It creates an environment where you work well. This was evident in their match against Venezia.” He further elaborated on Lecce’s tactical approach, saying, “They will press from our goal kick. They are a well-organized team and try to provoke errors from their opponents to counter-attack.”
Regarding Juventus’ performance, Motta remained focused on the immediate challenge: “We have another opportunity to put in a great performance, to steer the match in our favor. We are focused on Lecce; for the upcoming matches, we will study accordingly.”
