Palladino’s pursuit: Fiorentina’s bold move for Daniel Maldini

Start

Fiorentina are  making a serious push to acquire Daniel Maldini, aiming to outmaneuver stiff competition from other Italian clubs. Calciomercato report how the initiative comes directly from manager Raffaele Palladino, who has a high regard for the talented son of Paolo Maldini. Palladino, having previously worked with Daniel, is credited as the coach who best understood, developed, and improved the young player’s abilities.

The Viola’s management is intensifying efforts to reach an agreement with Maldini’s agent, Beppe Riso, with a view towards a summer transfer. Maldini’s contract with Monza includes two release clauses that can only be activated during the summer transfer window: €12 million for Italian clubs and €15 million for foreign teams.

Monza’s CEO Adriano Galliani has already made it clear that there’s no chance of Maldini leaving in January, as he remains crucial to the team’s survival in Serie A. This stance effectively rules out any mid-season move.

While Juventus and Inter had previously shown interest, Atalanta have been leading the race for Maldini’s signature. However, Fiorentina is now attempting to surge ahead with an ambitious offer that could quadruple Daniel’s current salary of €300,000 per season.

The key factor in this transfer saga is the project presented to Maldini. The 23-year-old player is ambitious and seeks a club that will invest in his development, allowing him to continue his growth and maintain his place in the national team. Fiorentina, under Palladino’s guidance, could become that ideal destination for Daniel Maldini.
