Fiorentina have officially confirmed that Serbian centre-back Nikola Milenkovic has extended his contract with the club until 2027. The Serbian international had been the subject of transfer rumours linking him to Milan and Inter in recent weeks, however he has now committed to a longer deal with La Viola.
Speaking at the press conference where the extension was confirmed, he said:
I love this club and this city. I am excited and happy to stay at Fiorentina. The club has shown that it has great ambition.
The goal is to improve what we did last year in Serie A, and win the Europa Conference League. It would be great.
I also thank the fans, who gave me so much affection over the years, especially recently. I feel loved here. The directors, President did great work to keep me here and give me the opportunity to continue my career here. I am very happy with the choices I made.
I took some time to think carefully and I am very happy with my decision.”
