Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Senior Advisor for RedBird’s Milan investment, shared his thoughts on the current state of AC Milan and the upcoming Kings League Italy project during its presentation in Turin. The Swedish legend addressed various topics, including Milan’s performance under Paulo Fonseca and the highly anticipated match against Juventus.
Regarding the Kings League, Ibrahimovic expressed enthusiasm about its arrival in Italy: “I’m a president in Kings League Italia, and it’s finally coming to our country. Fans will see football with a lot of spectacle, different rules, a different format. It will be very entertaining. It’s very different from real football; here, fans can influence the dynamics, and various things can happen during matches.”
When asked about the upcoming Milan-Juventus clash, Ibrahimovic stated, “Milan-Juventus will be a spectacle. It will be more serious than the Kings League, but it will be a great match.”
Assessing Milan’s current situation, he said, “Milan is a work in progress. We’re working to provide balance and stability. We can do better, but we’re growing, and that’s what we want to continue doing. What needs improvement? Balance. There are results in various matches that shouldn’t happen. It’s a balance of both mentality and gameplay that we’re developing, given that things have changed.”
Addressing transfer market speculation, Ibrahimovic commented, “Can something happen in the market? Everyone knows everything and has advice; everyone’s an expert. The market is every day. We have a scouting system that looks at what might be needed for both the first team and Milan’s future. At the moment, we’re not thinking about January. We’ll see what happens in these two months.”
On whether modern football needs more show elements, he reflected, “I understand fans who want more spectacle, but in professional football, everything is already there. Those who watch the Kings League are aiming at people with different interests.”
Finally, when asked about a potential return to the pitch, Ibrahimovic playfully responded, “Why not? If it goes well for me… I can still do something. Me like Totti? We all want to come back, but when we’re on the field, it’s a different story.”
