Calhanoglu Injury update: Inter Milan doctor provides reassurance

Start

Inter Milan’s medical team has provided an update on Hakan Calhanoglu’s injury, offering reassurance to fans concerned about the midfielder’s condition. Dr. Piero Volpi, head of Inter’s medical department, has stated that the injury does not appear to be serious.

Calhanoglu was substituted at halftime during Turkey’s match against Wales due to discomfort in his groin area, raising concerns at Inter. However, he remained with the Turkish national team under coach Vincenzo Montella for their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture against Montenegro.

Dr. Volpi explained, “We are in contact with the Turkish medical staff and officials. Fortunately, it seems that Hakan’s problem is not particularly serious. We will conduct another examination upon his return. We hope for the shortest possible recovery time, as he is one of those players that coaches always want to have available.”

The Turkish Football Federation revealed that Calhanoglu did not participate in the team’s training session under Montella and has begun treatment for his groin issue. While the injury does not appear to be severe, his participation in Tuesday’s match against Montenegro is in doubt.

Looking ahead, it’s unlikely that Inter will risk Calhanoglu in their upcoming Serie A match against Verona on November 23rd. A more probable scenario is that he will return for the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig on November 26th or, at the latest, for the away fixture against Fiorentina in Serie A on December 1st.
