Prime Video are set to release a documentary titled “Fragile – The Story of Nicolò Fagioli” on November 26th, offering an intimate look into the Juventus midfielder’s struggles with gambling addiction.
In the documentary, Fagioli candidly discusses the progression of his betting habits, revealing that his most significant wagers began during his time with Juventus’ Under-23 team. He explains, “When I started placing higher bets, I think it was then, in the Under-23 team, where I began to gamble more money than usual. In reality, I wasn’t even playing to win money. At first, I didn’t play to win money; I didn’t need money. I played for the adrenaline it gave me, that was the main problem.”
The young player describes the depths of his addiction, recounting periods of intense, prolonged gambling sessions. “At the worst moment, I would spend 12-13 hours glued to my phone,” Fagioli admits. “It would pass as if it were 2 or 3 hours because you didn’t even realize that time was passing so quickly. It all seemed like a bubble with yourself where you weren’t aware of anything. Even if people asked me questions, I might answer, but after an hour I couldn’t even remember what they had asked or said to me.”
