Dissatisfied with his limited playing time at Everton, the Guinea-Bissau international is pushing for a move back to Serie A. According to reports, he has offered his services to Torino, though they are not the only club interested in the physically strong, fast, and goal-oriented forward who has already proven his scoring ability in Italy.
Calciomercato report that Beto’s time at Everton has been disappointing since his €30 million transfer in the summer of 2023. After two successful seasons with Udinese, he has struggled to establish himself in Liverpool. Initially starting a few games, he quickly fell down the pecking order. His first season ended with 37 appearances and just 5 goals, significantly less than main striker Calvert-Lewin’s tally. This season has been even worse, with only 10 appearances across all competitions, scoring 4 goals, but only one in the Premier League where he’s played a mere 95 minutes in total.
The striker’s market value has dropped from €30 million to €20 million due to his Premier League struggles. Everton’s new owners, the Friedkins, are reportedly open to a six-month loan deal to help Beto regain his form and value.
Torino leads the race for Beto’s signature, especially after Duvan Zapata’s serious injury. However, they face competition from other clubs, including Juventus, who are looking for a backup to Vlahovic. Juventus’s sporting director, Giuntoli, has shown interest in Beto since his time at Napoli.
