Allegri: ‘I wasn’t sacked from Juventus because of Giuntoli’

Massimiliano Allegri, the former Juventus manager, is set to receive a Golden Tapir award from the Italian satirical news program “Striscia la notizia.” The award, presented by Valerio Staffelli, features a “short muzzle,” a reference to Allegri’s famous expression for winning by a narrow margin.

When asked about his current status, Allegri, who is yet to find a new coaching position, remarked, “I’m doing well even on vacation.”

Addressing rumors about his departure from Juventus, Allegri firmly denied that it was due to Managing Director Cristiano Giuntoli. He stated, “Absolutely not, I’m very fond of my former team and always wish them the best.”

When questioned about Thiago Motta’s Juventus struggling compared to his tenure, Allegri deflected, saying, “I went to watch tennis, I had a lot of fun.”

Staffelli jokingly asked if Allegri had met with tennis star Jannik Sinner to find a position at Monaco. Allegri responded, “No, Jannik is a great player and an excellent guy.”

Regarding rumors of a potential move to the Premier League, Allegri humorously remarked, “There was the English Channel, the sea in between… I was missing the armbands to swim all the way there.”
