Zielinski: “For Inter, I said no to Juventus and other top clubs”

Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, now playing for Inter Milan, recently gave an extensive interview to the Polish channel Kanał Sportowy. The former Napoli star discussed his decision to join Inter, the numerous offers he received before leaving Napoli as a free agent, and his surprising adjustment to life under Simone Inzaghi’s management.

Zielinski revealed that he had turned down several prestigious clubs in favor of Inter. “Liverpool, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Juventus… they were all interested in me,” he stated. “I even received specific requests from Barcelona. But I love Italy. When I arrived at Napoli, I felt at home, and it would have been difficult for me to go to England, for example. I would have considered Spain, but my priority was to continue my career in Italy.”

Despite his move to Inter, Zielinski holds no ill feelings towards his former club. “Today I’m at Inter, but Napoli is also a great club, and I would have been happy to extend my contract there,” he admitted.

The Polish international expressed his satisfaction with his new club, emphasizing the top-tier facilities and support at Inter. “I’ve arrived at a great club where they provide you with everything you need. In Milan, a player has everything necessary; you just need to focus on playing,” Zielinski explained.

However, the transition to Inter hasn’t been without its challenges. Zielinski found the pre-season particularly demanding under Inzaghi’s regime. “The first 3-4 days of tests were tough. The preparation period was probably the most difficult since I arrived in Italy,” he confessed.
