Leandro Paredes, currently on international duty with Argentina, has opened up about his uncertain future at Roma and his experiences with the national team. The 30-year-old midfielder, who has made seven appearances this season in Serie A and Europa League, spoke candidly about his situation at the club.
“I live my life and my career day by day,” Paredes stated. “Obviously, there’s been a lot of talk, but now I’m focused on my club. I was very happy while De Rossi was there, then the coaching situation changed, and now it’s changing again…”
Paredes’ contract with Roma is set to expire in 2025, and speculation about his future has been rife. When asked about the possibility of returning to Boca Juniors to finish his career in Argentina, he remained noncommittal: “I haven’t spoken with Gago, we’ll see if he calls me or not.”
The midfielder also expressed his enthusiasm for playing with the national team: “I really enjoy playing for the national team, training with this jersey, and obviously playing at La Bombonera is an advantage, but I have just as much fun playing at the Monumental. It will be the same.”
