Roma have reportedly reached an agreement with Sampdoria for the transfer of Spanish midfielder Gonzalo Villar. The 24-year-old spent three seasons with the Giallorossi before being loaned out to Getafe during the January transfer window.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma have now reached terms with Samp for his transfer with Blucerchiati coach Marco Giampaolo playing a key role in getting the move agreed.
Villar is expected to join Sampdoria on a year-long loan deal with an €8m buy option to buy outright for next summer. The Spaniard has failed to convince Jose Mourinho during his time in the capital and was told he would be allowed to leave the club this summer.
The Spanish international managed 63 appearances across all competitions for Roma but only managed one assist in that time.
