Juventus’ Champions League match against Lille ended in a 1-1 draw on the fourth matchday of the group stage. David opened the scoring for Lille in the first half, with Vlahovic equalizing from the penalty spot after the break. Following the game, Juventus manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the team’s performance.
Motta began by expressing mixed feelings about the outcome: “We wanted a different result, but I’m happy with the performance and what we did. There are certain things we can improve on, but I’m satisfied. In the offensive phase, in the final 20 meters, we could have done better. From the beginning, you could see a team that was waiting and trying to attack: it was a good game. Now we’ll recover and think about the derby.”
Addressing the goal conceded, Motta commented: “In a goal conceded, there can normally be some errors. We’re giving continuity to what we’re doing, and we created several difficulties for them on the flanks. I’m happy with the game we played.”
The Juventus manager also highlighted the team’s improved performance in the second half: “In the second half, we found better one-on-one situations in areas where we need to do so to create an advantage.”
