Roma’s Hummels dispels controversy: “I didn’t leave the locker room early

Mats Hummels, Roma’s defender who has been at the center of some controversy due to his limited playing time under coach Ivan Juric despite playing in the Champions League final in June, has personally clarified an incident that many have allegedly misinterpreted following Roma’s defeat to Verona in the latest league match.

Hummels stated, “At this moment, I’m receiving many questions about my supposed early return to the locker room, so I’ll simply clarify. Yesterday, I didn’t go to the locker room ahead of time. After the warm-up, I returned to the bench normally and stayed there until the final whistle. I don’t know how this other version of events came out, to be honest.”

Meanwhile, Juric’s situation is not the most promising. The coach’s position is under scrutiny, and the Friedkin family is evaluating other solutions to try and salvage a season that is increasingly heading towards a placement below the European qualification positions.

This clarification from Hummels comes at a time when Roma is facing challenges both on and off the pitch. The German defender, who joined Roma with high expectations, has found himself in an unexpected situation with limited playing time. His statement appears to be an attempt to address rumors and maintain a positive relationship with the club and its fans.
