Napoli struggle to utilise Raspadori, Atalanta and Milan show Interest

Start

Giacomo Raspadori’s future at Napoli appears uncertain as the talented forward continues to find limited playing time under Antonio Conte’s management. Calciomercato report that this situation has caught the attention of both Atalanta and AC Milan, who are considering a move for the 24-year-old Italian international.

Atalanta, in particular, have long admired Raspadori, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini known for his emphasis on attacking prowess. The Bergamo-based club sees Raspadori as a potential reinforcement for their offensive line, especially with the upcoming Supercoppa matches and their usual participation in multiple competitions.

Raspadori’s current form at Napoli has been underwhelming, with the player struggling to make a significant impact in his limited appearances. His performances have mostly garnered average ratings, a far cry from his prolific days at Sassuolo where he netted 10 goals. This season, he has yet to score, managing only one assist in seven appearances and a mere 240 minutes of Serie A action.

The striker’s situation is particularly concerning as he approaches his 25th birthday in February, an age considered ideal by Atalanta’s management for their recruitment strategy. However, Napoli’s valuation remains high, with the club reportedly seeking around €30 million for Raspadori. Atalanta might push for a lower price if his playing time and performances don’t improve.

AC Milan has also entered the race for Raspadori’s signature. The Rossoneri are in the market for a second striker to partner with Alvaro Morata and have initiated preliminary contacts. They are expected to decide on pursuing the deal more aggressively in the coming weeks.

For Atalanta, Raspadori represents a versatile option who could play as a second striker or in a more fluid role behind the main forward, potentially forming partnerships with their current attacking players.
