Serie A | Bologna 2-0 Como: Match Report

Start

Bologna secured a crucial victory against 10-man Como, further solidifying their position in the race for a top-four finish in Serie A. The match, which ended 2-0 in favour of the Rossoblu, saw goals from Lorenzo De Silvestri and Giovanni Fabbian.

Fresh off their Champions League campaign, which concluded with a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP, Bologna shifted their focus to their impressive domestic form. Despite missing key players like Tommaso Pobega, Lewis Ferguson, and Riccardo Orsolini, the team showed no signs of slowing down.

Como, also dealing with several absences, welcomed back Edoardo Goldaniga from suspension and introduced new signings Alex Valle and Jonathan Ikone. However, their plans were disrupted when Alieu Fadera received a red card for protesting, leaving them a man down for much of the match.

The home side dominated from the start, with Jhon Lucumi nearly opening the scoring early on. The breakthrough came from a well-executed set-piece, as De Silvestri’s glancing header found the net from a Charalampos Lykogiannis cross. Bologna continued to create chances, with Thijjs Dallinga unlucky to hit the crossbar.

After the break, Como showed signs of life with Diao coming close, but it was Bologna who struck again. Juan Miranda’s cross was expertly converted by Fabbian, effectively sealing the victory. The visitors did have their moments, with Ikone and Strefezza threatening, but Bologna’s defense held firm.

The match concluded on a positive note for Bologna fans, who welcomed back Niccolò Cambiaghi and Oussama El Azzouzi from long-term injuries. Como’s late efforts, including a Nico Paz free-kick brilliantly saved by Lukasz Skorupski, proved futile as Bologna secured another important win in their quest for Champions League qualification.
