Following Fiorentina’s 1-0 victory over Torino, which marked their sixth consecutive win across Serie A and UEFA Conference League, manager Raffaele Palladino addressed the media, offering his thoughts on the match and his team’s performance.
Palladino began by deflecting praise away from himself and onto his players, stating, “The credit is not mine but the team’s. We have reached an important maturity and defensive solidity. I could even stop coaching and they would do everything themselves, they are really good.”
The Fiorentina boss acknowledged the challenging schedule his team has faced, saying, “It wasn’t an easy match, it was the fifth game in 15 days, four away from home. We are happy but we know there are things to improve.”
Palladino expressed his appreciation for the squad at his disposal, emphasizing the special bond within the group: “The club has provided me with a group of special guys, I love them all. There’s great harmony, a magic. They were fantastic in defending and attacking.”
When asked about specific players, particularly Gudmundsson, Palladino chose to focus on the collective effort: “We need to recover him, as well as Pongracic and Cataldi. But it’s not right to talk about individuals now. Those who come off the bench are as important as those who start, they can change the game.”
