Following Napoli’s 3-0 loss to Atalanta, manager Antonio Conte spoke to the media, offering his thoughts on the match and his team’s performance.
Conte began by praising his squad’s effort, stating, “I must be honest and I think the team performed in the right way. We can do better in some things but I have nothing to say to the team from the point of view of commitment and desire. The statistics are very balanced. We really spent a lot in terms of energy.”
The Napoli boss acknowledged the strength of their opponents, saying, “Until now we have done very well and we have met a team that I think is stronger than us. I said it in the press conference and not to make excuses. For many years they have been on an important journey. They have a squad structured in such a way that it’s scary.”
Conte highlighted areas where his team fell short, explaining, “We lacked the final pass, the precise shot, which instead Atalanta had. They were certainly much better.”
