Serie B side Como are set to sign former Spainish International Cesc Fabregas on a free transfer this summer. The Arsenal legend is on the verge of making the switch in the weeks ahead with only formalities left.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the move is close to being finalised with Fabregas expected in Italy in early August to undertake his club medical and sign his contract.
Fabregas is expected to pen a two-year contract
The 35-year-old has spent his years playing for Ligue 1 side Monaco but previously spent time at both Barcelona and Chelsea where he won La Liga, the Premier League and the Europa League.
He also played a pivotal role in the Spanish national team that won both the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championship in 2008.
