Napoli and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are showing encouraging signs of progress in their contract renewal negotiations. The Serie A leaders are pushing to reach an agreement with their Georgian star, whose current contract expires in 2027.
Antonio Conte’s team is flying high in the league, having secured their fifth consecutive victory against AC Milan at San Siro, extending their unbeaten run to nine matches and consolidating their position at the top of the table. Kvaratskhelia was among the key performers in the Milan victory, scoring the second goal with a beautiful finish to the far post.
Recent reports from Sky Sport (Via Calciomercato) suggest that Kvaratskhelia’s entourage met with Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna in the last few hours. The meeting yielded positive signals in bringing the two parties closer together, with further discussions planned.
The main focus of the negotiations is to bridge the gap between the salary demands of Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and Napoli’s offer. Currently, the Georgian earns about 1.3 million euros net per season. Kvaratskhelia is reportedly asking for a salary of 8 million euros, while Napoli has offered 5 million. The club aims to find a middle ground at 6 million euros, with the inclusion of a release clause exceeding 100 million euros.
If an agreement cannot be reached, thoughts may turn to the possibility of a transfer to avoid a situation similar to that of Victor Osimhen, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly monitoring the situation. However, this scenario is not currently in Napoli’s plans, as the club is focused on reaching an agreement and extending Kvaratskhelia’s contract.
