“Juventus enriched me personally,” Says Parma coach Pecchia ahead of clash

Parma head coach Fabio Pecchia spoke to the media on the eve of his team’s match against Juventus, reflecting on his past experiences with the Turin club and providing updates on his current squad.

Pecchia, who played for Juventus in the 1997-98 season and later coached their Under-23 team in 2019-20, expressed his fondness for the club: “What does Juventus represent for me? My time at Juve, both as a player many years ago and as a coach with the Under-23 team, represents an important passage in my career. From a personal perspective, I met many people who enriched me.”

Regarding his team’s current condition, Pecchia stated, “I have to consider the match and the condition of some players based on how they came out of the last game. Overall, the group is doing well. We’ll have a few more hours on Wednesday to evaluate and put out the best lineup before facing Juventus.”

The coach provided an update on defender Yordan Osorio, saying, “We’ve recovered him, he’s back with the group. We have an almost complete squad, though naturally, not everyone is in the same condition due to various situations.”

Pecchia also commented on the status of several key players: “We have some players who are improving, as we’ve seen in recent matches. Like Charpe’s condition, who played 45 minutes at a high level, as well as Almqvist and Cancellieri. Then within the group, there are players like Benek and Estévez who are recovering from injuries, so their condition is improving but can’t be at the top, naturally.”

He specifically addressed Dennis Man’s situation: “Dennis has a particular situation because after the extraordinary season he had, he played in the Euros and continues to play a lot. His integration is that of a strong player who is important for us, but probably at this moment, from an athletic point of view, he’s experiencing a physiological decline.”
