Vieri defends Inter after 4-4 Draw: “They could have scored 9 against Juventus”

Former Inter and Juventus striker Christian Vieri has offered his analysis of the incredible 4-4 draw between the Nerazzurri and Bianconeri at San Siro. Speaking as a pitch-side commentator for DAZN, Vieri sought to emphasize that not all is lost for Simone Inzaghi’s team.

In his assessment, Vieri highlighted Inter’s offensive prowess: “Inter could have scored eight or nine goals. The Nerazzurri conceded goals on counterattacks and when they were two goals up, which shows that Inter always thought about creating chances even when they were ahead of Juve. Inzaghi’s team is conceding more goals this year compared to last year. The team is there, tonight the Nerazzurri played an incredible game and scored a lot against a strong defense like Juventus’.”

Vieri’s comments suggest that despite the defensive lapses, Inter’s attacking performance was noteworthy, especially against a team known for its solid defense.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi also shared his thoughts on the errors made by his team during the match: “Clearly there were mistakes, we all need to take more responsibility, then I obviously still need to analyze them in depth: there are repeated errors, you go and see how the goals were conceded. We all should have done better, it’s difficult to talk about a single player. As a coach, I have to be clear-headed and understand, I know that now we are influenced by the result. In eleven games against Juve, I had never created eight-nine scoring chances against such a solid team. There is disappointment, but we move forward.”
