In the aftermath of Lazio’s convincing win against Genoa, manager Marco Baroni spoke to DAZN, expressing his satisfaction with the team’s performance and outlining his vision for the club’s future.

Baroni began by highlighting the importance of squad depth and the team’s collective effort: “I’m happy with the three goals, coming from Noslin, who wasn’t a starter, and from two substitutes. This shows how much we try to advance the philosophy that everyone must be useful and give their all.”

The manager emphasized the growth he expects from his team: “The team must grow from game to game. We renew the challenge to ourselves in our work and in matches. We are ambitious, I am ambitious, the fans and the club are ambitious, so to do something important we must keep the performance level high.”

Baroni also touched on his tactical approach, stating, “Positional football is over. We need to make horizontal movement. The players believe in this and work for it.”

Reflecting on his personal philosophy, Baroni said, “I am a man who lives on passion and emotions. I said it right away: I like having a team that excites, we must think about families and children. The player must give everything on the field.”

He acknowledged the team’s progress in understanding his message: “There will be negative moments, but when one gives their all, I always say they can face everything differently. The team is receiving the message, and the people feel it.”

Baroni concluded by analyzing the match itself: “In the first half, we were not incisive enough. We couldn’t find Dia between the lines; he was coming beyond the midfielders when he needed to be unmarking behind them. They had very close lines, and we weren’t moving the ball quickly enough. But even in these matches, the team has shown maturity.”
