Galliani discusses Monza’s progress, Nesta’s tactics, and Maldini rumours

Start

Adriano Galliani, CEO of Monza, recently shared his thoughts on various topics before the Serie A Assembly. He expressed relief that Monza has finally found its footing, stating, “Finally, my Monza has broken through. Were we worried? Of course, it’s always better when you win, but Nesta was never in danger.”

Galliani humorously remarked on head coach Alessandro Nesta’s tactics, saying, “How do I judge Nesta’s work? Well, considering I chose him… Silvio Berlusconi’s advice on playing style still has an effect. I’ve passed it on to Nesta and Djuric. I keep saying: every time there’s a long ball, sprint towards the goal. Djuric will somehow flick it on. He wins more aerial duels than any player in the top five leagues. So a good ball can always come. I told Nesta it’s pointless to work on anything else because the only good tactic is a long ball from the goalkeeper, Djuric’s flick, and goal. That’s the scheme to apply.”

On the topic of Daniel Maldini and rumors linking him to Inter, Galliani dismissed the speculation, saying, “Have we already talked to Marotta about Maldini? Never talked about Maldini with anyone. I speak to Daniel every day, as he’s recovering from a shoulder injury but should be ready for Sunday. Maldini at Inter sounds a bit strange? I’ve never heard from anyone. Inter has never made a request; no one has ever spoken; it doesn’t exist, I don’t think so, I don’t know. Anyway, I’m a Milan fan, so leave me out of it.”

Regarding any potential sale of the club, Galliani stated, “Any news on a possible sale? No, no news. I’m the object, not the subject, so I don’t talk. In any case, there are no developments; no offers; we’re moving forward.”

When asked about his prediction for the Serie A title race, Galliani diplomatically responded, “In my opinion, it will be one between Napoli, Juventus, Inter, and Milan.”
