Serie A | Lazio 3-0 Genoa: Match Report

Start

Lazio put on a dominant display at the Stadio Olimpico, dispatching Genoa 3-0 in a convincing Serie A performance. The Biancocelesti, buoyed by their recent Europa League success, showcased their attacking prowess and defensive solidity against a Genoa side struggling for form.

The opening goal came through a moment of individual brilliance from Tijjani Noslin. The Dutch forward showcased his skill by nutmegging one defender and evading another before firing a precise right-footed shot into the far corner.

Despite Genoa’s occasional threats, including a close call from Morten Thorsby early on, Lazio maintained control of the match. The home side created several opportunities, with Taty Castellanos and Nuno Tavares both coming close to extending the lead.

Genoa’s misfortune continued as substitute David Ankeye suffered an injury shortly after entering the field, further hampering their chances of a comeback.

Lazio sealed the victory in the closing stages. Super-sub Pedro capitalized on a rebound after Castellanos’ initial effort was partially saved, tapping in to double the lead. In stoppage time, Matias Vecino added a third, heading home from Nuno Tavares’ precise cross.

The result strengthens Lazio’s position in the top half of the table, while Genoa’s struggles continue as they remain perilously close to the relegation zone. The comprehensive victory will boost Lazio’s confidence as they look to challenge for European qualification spots in the coming weeks.
