Florin Manea, the agent of Radu Dragusin, recently spoke in an exclusive interview with Gonfialarete.com about his client’s situation and the rumored interest from Napoli. The Romanian defender, currently with Tottenham Hotspur, has been the subject of speculation regarding a potential move to the Italian club.
When asked about the renewed interest from Napoli, Manea clarified, “I haven’t spoken to anyone, and I don’t believe Tottenham wants to let him go. Radu is focused and wants to seize his opportunities with the Spurs. I’ve seen the news, but—I repeat—I haven’t heard from anyone. We appreciate that many teams are following him, but I’ve told other clubs that—at present—we’re not interested.”
Addressing Dragusin’s limited playing time at Tottenham, Manea acknowledged, “No player is happy if they don’t play much, but he wants to fight for his place. We’ll see how many matches he plays and evaluate later; right now, it’s premature to think about a transfer.”
Reflecting on past discussions with Napoli, Manea said, “I spoke with President De Laurentiis last year, and there was great interest in Radu. Napoli made a significant offer to Genoa, but Dragusin wanted to go to the Premier League and even turned down Bayern. I have a lot of faith in him; he won’t have trouble playing.”
Regarding the possibility of seeking more playing time elsewhere if the situation doesn’t improve, Manea stated, “There’s that possibility. If he doesn’t play any matches by winter, it’s normal to look around. But I don’t think it will happen; Tottenham believes in him a lot, and we’re not planning to leave. Napoli is certainly a great team, leading in Italy—a league Radu knows well—and would be a valid alternative. However, he is focused solely on Tottenham, and I deny the circulated rumors: no offer has been made.”
