Runjaic: ‘I have some doubts over the disallowed Udinese goal’

Start

Udinese manager Kosta Runjaic shared his thoughts following his team’s narrow 1-0 defeat to AC Milan in Serie A. Speaking to DAZN after the match, Runjaic addressed several key points, including the controversial disallowed goal and his team’s overall performance.

Regarding the disallowed goal scored by Kabasele, Runjaic expressed some uncertainty: “I have some doubts only about the incident of Kabasele’s disallowed goal, but I’m not a referee, I’m a coach. The responsibility for the decision lies with the referee. There’s no point in discussing this now. It’s gone that way.”

When asked about his satisfaction with the team’s performance, Runjaic was critical of their start: “I’m not satisfied with the performance, especially at the beginning of the match. In the first half hour, Milan played better than us. Then, with the extra man, things went better, but it’s not easy to circulate the ball when a team defends so deep. We created many chances, we could have done better and come home with at least a draw.”

The Udinese coach also commented on the development of young striker Lorenzo Lucca: “Lucca is a young striker who is very ambitious and needs time to demonstrate his potential. We support him to help him grow further.”
