Thauvin’s Injury update: Runjaic confirms absence for Milan clash

Start

Udinese’s star forward Florian Thauvin will miss the upcoming match against AC Milan, as confirmed by manager Kosta Runjaic in a pre-match press conference. Despite working hard during the international break to recover from a muscle problem that sidelined him for the last game against Lecce, Thauvin has not fully overcome the injury.

Calciomercato report how Runjaic provided an update on Thauvin’s condition, stating: “Thauvin is still dealing with this minor issue he had after the Inter match. It’s a light rib injury, but it’s still causing him some pain, so he can’t train with the group yet. He’s working between the gym and physiotherapy. I don’t know if he’ll be able to return next week. He wants to come back immediately, but for now, Thauvin can’t put on his boots to play.”

The French attacker’s absence will be a significant blow for Udinese, as he has been a key player for the team this season. At 31 years old, Thauvin has started in every match he’s been available for, though Runjaic has been carefully managing his minutes. His impact has been notable, with three goals and one assist in the first six league games.

The Milan match, scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, will be only the second game Thauvin has missed this season, the other being a Coppa Italia fixture against Cagliari where he was an unused substitute.
