New Fiorentina midfielder Andrea Colpani, recently opened up about his summer transfer experience and his early impressions at his new club. In a lengthy interview with Calciomercato, Colpani shared insights into the transfer process and his adaptation to life in Florence.

Reflecting on his first major transfer window as a sought-after player, Colpani said, “It was a different summer than usual, obviously. I tried to look at as little news as possible, I didn’t want to get caught up in too many thoughts and I simply waited for the phone to ring. I confess that in the weeks before my transfer I felt a bit like a journalist, because I was often on the phone with my agent to get updates on all the news. Which is what you do, right?”

When asked if his experience at Fiorentina has met his expectations, Colpani responded positively: “I must say that I found exactly what I expected to find. I expected a very warm fanbase and I found one with incredible warmth, I expected a strong team and I wasn’t disappointed, I expected a state-of-the-art sports center and I found Viola Park.”

Addressing the pressure that comes with playing for an ambitious club like Fiorentina, Colpani acknowledged its presence but emphasized his approach to handling it: “Yes, there’s a lot of it, the fans rightly expect a lot and we try to do our best. For my part, I try to stay as calm as possible and show my qualities without paying attention to what’s around. Worrying too much is the quickest way to then make a bad impression.”

Colpani also spoke highly of his coach, Raffaele Palladino, noting, “The coach gives me peace of mind, he wants me to behave as usual. He has a great desire to emerge, he’s always had it and he’s showing it here too.”

When asked about his new attacking teammates, Colpani offered brief but insightful descriptions: “Just looking at Moise [Kean] impresses you with his enormous physical strength. Gud [Gudmundsson] has an Olympic calm combined with great technique, while when I think of Edo [Bove] I think of a tractor because he runs for all 90 minutes and never stops.”

Looking ahead to the Conference League, Colpani expressed the team’s ambition: “Winning a European trophy is definitely a goal. We always want to improve on what we did the previous year, and we all know that for not one, but two years we reached the final. The only way to do better is to bring home the trophy, we’ll work for that.”
