Federico Pastorello, the agent representing both Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, has addressed the future of the two Inter Milan defenders. With both players’ contracts set to expire on June 30, 2025, speculation has been growing about their potential departures from the Nerazzurri.
Speaking before the AIACS (Italian Association of Football Agents and Clubs) electoral assembly, Pastorello provided insight into the situation: “Renewal? It’s still very early, there are clauses that determine the end or continuity of the relationship. It’s our duty to keep our eyes open. If the club decides not to keep the players, we need to find an adequate solution.”
Despite the uncertainty, Pastorello emphasized the players’ desire to remain at Inter: “Both would be happy to stay, they have both clearly stated this.”
The situation is complicated by Inter’s possession of a unilateral option to extend both players’ contracts until June 30, 2026. However, reports suggest that the club may be looking to part ways with at least one of the defenders to make room for new signings.
Inter’s decision-making process is likely influenced by the upcoming Club World Cup, which may factor into their plans for maintaining experienced players in the squad.
