Juventus explore defensive options to replace Injured Bremer

Start

Juventus find themselves in a defensive crisis following Gleison Bremer’s season-ending knee injury. The club is now actively seeking a replacement, with Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli considering several options for the January transfer window.

Calciomercato report how Milan Skriniar has emerged as the fans’ favorite and potentially the ideal candidate. Despite his Inter Milan past, Skriniar’s experience and quality make him an attractive option. Giuntoli has hinted at pursuing such “opportunities,” and Skriniar’s current dissatisfaction at Paris Saint-Germain could facilitate a move.

The urgency for reinforcement is clear, as manager Thiago Motta is left with limited options in Federico Gatti and Pierre Kalulu, with Juan Cabal and Danilo as backups. Temporary solutions like adapting Manuel Locatelli or Savona are not seen as long-term answers.

While Sergio Ramos has been ruled out, other names on Giuntoli’s list include Jakub Kiwior, whom Motta previously coached at Spezia. Kiwior’s potential exit from Arsenal makes him an intriguing prospect. Maxence Lacroix of Wolfsburg remains a consideration, though he may not represent the “opportunity” Juventus seeks.

Ardian Ismajli from Empoli is another player under surveillance, potentially offering a more accessible option. Interestingly, Juventus is also exploring an internal solution, with Thiago Motta closely monitoring the progress of Pedro Felipe from the Next Gen squad, aligning with the manager’s reputation for developing young talent.
