Parma considering sacking Pecchia as poor start prompts managerial change discussions

Start

Parma is evaluating the position of head coach Fabio Pecchia following a disappointing start to the season. With only one victory in their first seven league matches and an early elimination from the Coppa Italia, the club’s leadership is contemplating a change to revitalize the team’s performance.

The Gialloblu have managed just six points from seven games, with their sole win coming against AC Milan. Three draws and three losses, mostly against direct relegation rivals, have left the team in a precarious position. Calciomercato report that the club’s management is now considering whether to make a managerial change to spark a turnaround.

If Parma decide to part ways with Pecchia, they may act swiftly to take advantage of the international break, allowing a new coach time to settle in. Several experienced managers are currently available and could be potential candidates for the role, including Walter Mazzarri, Igor Tudor, Maurizio Sarri, Fabio Cannavaro, Davide Ballardini, and Gabriele Cioffi.

Parma’s upcoming fixtures add urgency to the decision. After the international break, they face Como away on October 19th, followed by home game against Empoli and a challenging away match at Juventus. The team’s defensive frailties have been a significant concern, with Parma conceding 12 goals so far, making them the third-worst defense among teams in the bottom half of the table.
