Emil Holm reflects on Liverpool experience and Bologna debut

Start

Bologna defender Emil Holm shared his thoughts following the team’s 0-0 draw against Parma in the Emilia-Romagna derby, marking his first start for the club in Serie A. The Swedish right-back discussed the match, the recent Champions League experience against Liverpool, and his personal progress.

Reflecting on the goalless draw, Holm acknowledged the team’s shortcomings: “I believe we lacked a bit of quality today despite playing a good game. We couldn’t score, but we shouldn’t dwell on this too much.”

The defender then spoke about the impact of Bologna’s recent Champions League match at Anfield: “Playing against a team like Liverpool was a great experience, and we’ve taken a lot from it.”

Discussing his integration into the Bologna squad and the manager’s expectations, Holm stated: “The coach asks us to do well, and I think I did that today. I’m very happy to have played my first game as a starter. Now we move forward.”

When asked about the late Sven-Göran Eriksson and his national team ambitions, Holm responded: “Eriksson was one of the most important coaches in Swedish history. It’s very sad for him and his family. The national team? It’s a big goal for me, but I need to play well.”

Holm also addressed his recent progress from being left out of the squad to starting: “Day by day, I worked to improve myself, and now I feel good.”
