Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci addressed recent speculation about his future following his team’s 3-2 away loss to Inter Milan. Despite growing interest from Manchester City and potential national team call-ups, Ricci remains grounded and focused on his development.

Reflecting on the match against Inter, Ricci said, “It was a bit like the game we played in Verona: that time there was a red card in our favor, tonight against us. These things can happen, football is also this. After the sending off, we continued to stay in the game, and we take home some positives.”

When asked about handling the attention from Manchester City and the national team, Ricci demonstrated maturity beyond his years. “I’ve learned to understand a bit: as soon as you do well, many things come out. They’re pleasing, but you shouldn’t let it go to your head. I still need to improve on many things,” he stated.

Ricci admitted to being aware of media coverage but emphasized his focus on tangible aspects of his career. “I look at them, friends send me articles. But I think more about concrete things, that is, the green rectangle,” he explained, referring to the football pitch.

The young midfielder also showed concern for his teammate Duván Zapata, who suffered an injury during the match. “We all hope he’ll be out for as little time as possible. He’s a very important player, he wouldn’t deserve a significant injury like this, and we hope it’s not serious,” Ricci commented.
