Champions League | Liverpool v Bologna: Probable starting lineups

Start

Liverpool and Bologna are set to face off in their second UEFA Champions League group stage match this evening at Anfield.

This is Bologna’s first away match in the competition after drawing 0-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening game. For Liverpool, it’s their second straight match against Italian opposition, having defeated AC Milan 3-1 at San Siro in the previous round.

Liverpool are  keeping a close eye on Andy Robertson’s fitness after he limped off during the match against Wolves. Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott remains out of action due to a foot fracture. Darwin Nunez, who missed the Wolves game because of illness, may be available for selection.

On Bologna’s side, they will be without Lewis Ferguson, Tommaso Pobega, and Oussama El Azzouzi due to injuries. Additionally, there are concerns about Santiago Castro’s availability after he was forced to leave the field in their last match.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Federico Chiesa will be unavailable for the match. For Bologna, manager Vincenzo Italiano noted that Castro was feeling discomfort in his calf, while expressing disappointment about Lucumì’s situation.

Probable Liverpool lineup (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konaté, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez. Manager: Slot

Probable Bologna lineup (4-3-3): Skorupski; Posch, Beukema, Lucumì, Lykogiannis; Aebischer, Freuler, Urbanski; Odgaard, Castro, Ndoye. Manager: Italiano
