Lautaro Martinez finally found his scoring touch, netting a crucial brace to lead Inter Milan to a 3-2 victory over Udinese. The Argentine striker, who had gone goalless in the first five Serie A matches, spoke to DAZN after the game about his performance and the team’s response following their derby defeat.
Martinez began by acknowledging the challenging nature of the match: “We suffered a bit, we know the team we were facing. This is always a difficult field for us, but after the derby, we talked less and worked a lot, and I think it showed on the field.”
Reflecting on breaking his goal drought, the forward emphasized the importance of his overall contribution to the team: “It’s important for me because, as a striker, the first thing you look for is to score goals. However, I always say that I work in reverse: first, I work for the team, then if I manage to score, even better. I must continue to work and try to keep Inter at the top. The important thing is that the team must win.”
When asked about what Inter needs to do to recapture their form from last season, Martinez stressed the importance of attitude and continuous improvement: “The right attitude, always working harder, and staying humble. These are the words we say to each other and what we must demonstrate. Always stay positive and raise the level every day because Inter must grow.”
