Former Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli is set to join Lazio as a free agent with just the final details to be resolved. The 27-year-old was out of contract this summer after failing to agree terms with the Rossoneri on a new deal.
Talks between Romagnoli and Lazio started some months ago with club President Claudio Lotito pushing to sign the centre-back for new coach Maurizio Sarri.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that a deal is now done on a five-year deal between the player and club.
Romagnoli is expected to earn €3m per season, plus important bonuses related to matches won and if Lazio qualify for the Champions League or Europa League.
The Italy international spent 7 seasons in Milan, making 247 appearances and scoring 10 goals.
